Riso is short for Risograph. This process of making image is similar to screenprinting, using spot colours and a stencil to create print. This Japanese printer/printing process was developed in the 1980’s and uses soy ink made from soy bean oil.

The risograph printing technique, which naturally creates a distinctive dotted texture. Minor variations in color density, alignment, and texture are characteristic features of Riso prints and part of their handmade quality. These details make each print unique and authentic.
